LekkaShare is a peer-to-peer vehicle sharing community based in Cape Town, South Africa. You can reach us any time at hello@lekkashare.co.za.
If you list a vehicle: your WhatsApp number, suburb, vehicle details (make, model, year and similar), optional photos of the vehicle, and optionally your name and email address. We collect these so we can contact you on WhatsApp about listing your vehicle — which you agree to by ticking the consent box on the form — and to prepare your listing.
If you join the waitlist: your name, email, and optionally your WhatsApp number, suburb and vehicle, so we can send you launch updates and early access.
Technical information: when you submit a form we record your IP address and browser type to protect against spam and fraud, and we note which advertisement or link brought you to us so we know what's working.
We use standard analytics tools (Google Analytics and the Meta pixel, where enabled) to understand anonymously how the site is used and whether our advertising works. You can decline these in the cookie notice, and the site works fully without them.
Your information is stored securely with our hosting and database providers (Cloudflare and Supabase) and is only accessible to the people running LekkaShare. We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone, ever.
We keep listing and waitlist information for as long as we're building and running the service, or until you ask us to remove it.
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act you may ask us at any time to show you what personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email hello@lekkashare.co.za or WhatsApp us, and we'll sort it out promptly. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za).
